We have received many snippets of information about noise levels at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant, best summarized as follows:
Maximum sound level for any vehicle will be 92 dB measured at 15 meters (50 feet). The track and possibly the pits will be constantly monitored. Non-compliant vehicles will not be allowed to run.
The sound level requirement has not been lowered from last year, but the monitoring (as required by the township) will be much more vigilant. It's hard to imagine that anyone would have a hard time not meeting the requirement. I just returned from the Lime Rock Club races where the maximum sound level of 89 dB is much lower, and almost everybody was able to comply — albeit with a lot of weird and wacky mufflers and contraptions to achieve it.
Neither NER nor Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant can do anything about these requirements. If you had issues in the past you should act now to reduce the noise of your vehicle rather than risk disappointment later.
We have been restricted to no more than 30 vehicles per run group as part of the sound reduction campaign.
If you haven't registered yet, we strongly recommend you do so as soon as possible. We obviously will do everything we can to get everybody on the track, but when we are over the vehicle limit, there is not much we can do.
