PorscheNet.com E-mail Aliases

PorscheNet email aliases allow our users to have really cool email addresses while maintaining their service from their normal Internet service provider or company.  When mail is sent to a PorscheNet email alias then we automatically redirect that main to your regular Internet account.  This is transparent to you and the sender.  The mail is not stored or copied, and we keep no records on email aliases, who sends to them, how they are used, etc..  Messages are merely redirected in real-time.

An example alias might be: JohnDoe911@PorscheNet.com.  If John Doe's real internet address was JohnDoe@someplace.com, then PorscheNet will automatically redirect any mail sent to JohnDoe911@PorscheNet.com to his real Internet address.  Our friend John Doe can setup his mail program (Reply-To) so that when he sends mail it looks like it comes from JohnDoe911@PorscheNet.com.

A major advantage of a PorscheNet email alias, other than the "cool factor" is that you now have a personal email address.  If you change your Internet service provider we merely remap your alias to go to that new place.  That way you never have to go through the hassle of telling all your friends that your email address has changed.  It always remains as your Porschenet alias.  Now, that's cool!

Email aliases are a service for our members. It is our policy not to publish the real names to which these alias map. Some users may be obvious from their alias. Some may not be so obvious! It is the business of the alias holder to decide whether to be public or not about who they are. You may be able to decode some alias owners by looking at Members OnLine. Have fun folks! [Smile!]

The fee for an Email alias for a member is $15.00 per year, flat rate. Aliases are assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you desire an alias which is already allocated you can always ask the alias if they wish to give it up. If you ask nicely it might happen. You can pick whatever you want for an alias, within reason...  For more information, or to request an alias send an Email to info@PorscheNet.com.

Sometimes people no longer want their alias for whatever reason.  When this happens the alias becomes available for anyone who wants to use it.  They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Otherwise, you can pick any name or character string you want, assuming it is not already in use.
