The Northeast Region board is currently assembled from a mix of newer members and grizzled veterans. Well, at least they look grizzled. Steve Ross, currently serving the role of "Past President" joined PCA in 1980 and has served as region President (4 years), Activities VP (2 or 3 times) Admin VP; Treasurer; track chairman, autocross, track and concours committees, Zone 1 autocross chairman, parade autocross chairman and will chair the upcoming 2001 Zone 1 Concours in Newport, RI. Steve currently drives a '96 993 as well as a '92 Miata and a 2001 PT Cruiser. His favorite club event is autocrossing, which he has been doing for 35 years and is starting to get pretty good at. You will see Steve at most of our events and often with his girlfriend Linda Wright, who has her own 993.

A new member of the board this year is Andy Jenks, who will be serving as secretary. Andy bought his first 911 when he was 13 years old! He and his dad bought a junked 911 for a few hundred bucks and spent about 3 years restoring it. He has owned both a '68 and '88 911, and currently drives a '74 911. He joined the club in 1998 and has made his mark already as a very fast autocrosser and driver's ed participant. Andy and his wife Julie have two children, Connor (3) and Kevin (7 months). Andy has a small software company (EI Software) and also enjoys photography in his spare time.

Bill Brinkmann joined the club in 1995 and this year will be our Activities VP (responsible for autocross, track and concours), after serving a tour of duty the last two years as Treasurer. Bill and his wife Tobey are very active in all manner of club events. They have a '71 914/4 and an '87 924S. He used to have a dune buggy, but sold it to buy the 914 (Why didn't he just lower the suspension on the dune buggy? Isn't it the same thing?). Bill is a software engineer and in his free time enjoys downhill skiing, snowmobiling and waterskiing.

Another grizzled veteran, having joined in 1983, is Dave Weber who continues on as Newsletter Editor. Dave, his wife Susana and their son Chris have all been very active in the club. Dave served as Parade Chairman in 1991 and 1994. Dave and Susana have owned various Porsches during the years, and currently have a '98 911 Cup 3.8 for the track and a '94 911 Speedster for the street. His favorite activity in the club is driver's ed. Dave is VP of Operations at Gortons in Gloucester. He also enjoys photography, computers, reading, art collecting and music.

Greg Hill joined the club in 1997 and after two years as Secretary, will now be our Treasurer. Greg has owned some interesting cars including a '66 427/425HP Corvette Convertible, '68 Shelby GT-500, Z07 Corvette, BMW M3, 993 C4S Aero and 911 RS America (which he recently sold). Greg is active in autocross and driver's ed. In his day job, he is President of Titan Mfg, which provides outdoor furniture (benches, picnic tables, trash receptacles) for public spaces such as Faneuil Hall, Ellis Island and Disney World. He has enjoyed many diverse interests outside the club including skiing, going to the gym, mountain biking, ice boating (though he feels something with a sail should not be going this fast), rifle and pistol competition, foxhunting and sailing. Greg is currently "between Porsches" and asks that I place the following ad: SWM seeking long-term commitment with attractive, young, Porsche. Must have great roll cage. Measurements must be 911. Must be low maintenance and very fast.

Dennis Cataldo drives a '92 968 and joined the club in 1996. Dennis is an active participant in autocross and driver's ed. He is married, with no kids, yet. In the real world, Dennis is VP of Cataldo Ambulance Service, with 325 employees and eight locations. When not Porsche’ing or working, Dennis enjoys snowmobiling, skiing, golfing and boating. He is past President of Rotary, President of Metro North Unit of the American Cancer Society and a board member of a few other community organizations. This is Dennis' first year on the board. He will be serving as Administrative VP and will be responsible for organizing all the club's monthly social meetings.

The "other Bruce" on the board is Bruce Hauben, who joined the club in 1996. Bruce once owned a TR-3 and a TR-6, and his wife Joyce owned a 912 Targa. Currently they own a '95 993 C4 and a track-prepared '93 RS America. Bruce is a driver's ed instructor and along with Joyce, thoroughly enjoy these events. His recent retirement as owner of a printing business has allowed them to travel to many distant tracks and Bruce looks forward to trying club racing in 2001. They also enjoy Rambles and have already made two reconnaissance trips to VT for finding just the right roads for us this spring. Bruce has three sons and two grandchildren. Bruce and Joyce also enjoy scuba diving, gardening, cross country skiing, hiking, traveling, watching college hockey, listening to live music, reading, cooking, and theatre.

As for me, I joined the club in 1993 after buying an '89 944 S2. I am currently in my second year as President of the region after previously serving as autocross chairman, Secretary and Administrative VP. I currently drive a '95 968 coupe (speed yellow) on the street and a '93 968 Turbo RS racecar at track and autocross events. My wife Kathy and I have three sons (6, 12 and 14). We have two horses, which we enjoy using for trail rides and foxhunts. We have quite a few other animals on the farm as well including a pony, chickens, ducks, cats, a pug and two great danes. I am President of a small investment company (Enterprise Investments, LLC) and in my free time I also enjoy mountain biking, tennis, exercising, target shooting and riding ATVs with the kids.
