NOR'EASTER Online - February 13, 2001 Board Meeting
Northeast Region Logo

Our February board meeting was held on Tuesday the 13th at Greg Hill's office in Concord. Greg Hill, Susana & Dave Weber, Bill Brinkmann, Steve Ross, Bruce Corwin, Margo Zann, Dennis Cataldo, and Andy Jenks were all in attendance at this meeting. Our president, Bruce Corwin, called the meeting to order at 7:59 pm.

Up first was our treasurer Greg Hill. Greg presented last month's treasury report. Some specifics of the report were discussed such as deposits for Driver's Ed events and a new laptop for the autocross program. The finances of the club look strong and the board accepted the report.

Bruce Hauben was unable to attend this month's meeting but the membership report was forwarded to the board. Membership numbers still look very strong. Bruce is also in the process of putting together a NER membership table at this year's Zone 1 Concours. Volunteers are needed to help staff the table. If you are able to help, please contact Bruce Hauben. Finally it was reported that renewal subscriptions for the Nor 'Easter are still coming in.

Next up was the busiest person on the board Dennis Cataldo. Dennis has been doing a great job preparing all of the monthly meetings. Refunds were sent back to those who registered and paid for the canceled January meeting. At the time of our board meeting things were all set for the February monthly meeting with David Murry. March's meeting, which is all ready to go, is the new member meeting hosted by IRA Porsche. Many different ideas were discussed for April's meeting.

Bill Brinkmann reviewed the many upcoming club activities. In autocross news, Eric Kessel and Bill Seymour have been getting sponsors for this year. Autocross rates were reviewed and approved by the board. In an effort to encourage season pre-registrations, the 'day of' rates were slightly increased to $25 for members and $30 for non-members driving a Porsche. To save $45 on the season, simply pre-register at a rate of only $80 for the season. In driver's education news, the Mont Tremblant date is close to be finalized and the October Mosport date has been secured. Bill also reported that the Spring Ramble applications are pouring in.

Next, Margo Zann was at the meeting to discuss Nor 'Easter advertising rates. Margo handed out a very compressive and detailed report of our ad rates compared to several other regions as well as non-PCA magazines. Margo then made recommendations for ad pricing which the board accepted.

Dave Weber handed out this month's schedule for the Nor 'Easter and went over items needed by the board members for next month's issue as well.

March is tech month and Steve Ross went over the various upcoming events. The 356 tech session is all set. There have been several replies to the Race Prep Tech coming up next month as well as the Advanced Porsche Maintenance Tech session. Steve also reported that preparation for the May Zone 1 Concours is coming along smoothly.

Towards the end of the meeting there was a general discussion about the NER web site and the great number of members joining the Members Online section.

Bruce Corwin adjourned the meeting at 9:44 pm. The next meeting is being held on March 13, 2001 at Andy Jenks' house.
