Dick Howe drives a 924GTR; a truely awesome car. The GTR currently has slightly less than 500 horsepower. But, it's a super light tube frame factory racer which looks like The Terminator when the body panels are removed. (Remember the movie "The Terminator" when Arnold loses his skin? ) In its heyday, the GTR raced at close to 600hp. Dick says he is hoping to have a real "big horsepower increase for this coming year". Watch out in Class A-1!

This car has some serious history. It was built by Al Holbert and raced by Paul Miller from 1983 to 1986. Way Cool! In this car Paul set 18 consecutive poles in 1983-84 in Trans AM and GTU classes. This car was the car to beat at that time. Based on the success of this car, the Porsche factory authorized the building of 7 944GTR's such as Mark Greenberg's, another Northeast Region PCA Club racer. The sway bars & brake bias can be controlled from the cockpit. It has a third fuel pump that can be activated by a switch in case one goes down.

Dick's mechanic is Eric Barrett. Eric was the crew chief for Paul Miller and is now taking care of Dick's car in addition to Mark's and Jim Lofits' GTR. (Jim's was also raced by Paul Miller).

Take a look at Dick and the 924GTR in action...
